Retronoob
Site Revamp
Retronoob is a gaming-focused content platform publishing news, reviews, and guides.
The existing site relied on a pre-built theme with unnecessary plugin dependencies, which led to performance issues, unstable updates, and an inconsistent layout.
We rebuilt the site with a cleaner structure, improved performance, and a more stable foundation for ongoing publishing.
Challenge
The site was built using a pre-configured theme that introduced multiple unnecessary plugins and dependencies. This created ongoing issues with slow performance, update conflicts, and occasional layout breakage.
As content grew, the structure also became harder to manage, affecting both usability and long-term maintainability.
Solution
We rebuilt the site using a lightweight, custom Bricks-based setup, removing unnecessary dependencies and simplifying the overall architecture.
Several plugin-based features were replaced with custom implementations, reducing overhead while improving control and stability. The layout was refined for better clarity, and performance improvements were applied across the site to ensure faster load times and smoother rendering.
A dark mode option was also introduced to enhance the browsing experience for users consuming long-form content.
